Casey [NYDM/ILDM]

I am an new RN who is into metal music. Unique combination huh? I was just recently patched into NYDM's Illinois Chapter, and I am proud to be a part of this wonderful organization full of great people. I like various genres of metal as is evident by my list of bands I like. However, I am always looking for new bands to listen to as well. I like being fairly open-minded about types of metal music I listen to. Recommendations of bands are welcomed.
I graduated with my BSN December 2007 from NIU! I currently work on a busy neuro/ortho/urology floor and then after a couple years I hope to become certified in wound care nursing because I love wounds! I am particularly interested in diabetic foot ulcers, arterial and venous stasis ulcers, and pressure ulcers and surgical wounds. I enjoy working with older patients and believe that being a patient advocate is critical to providing holistic nursing care. I am very eager to begin my career as a new nurse. I hope to feel like I make a difference in people's lives and give back to people who need it the most.
I have a wonderful fiance, Al, who is the love of my life and means everything to me!! I can't wait to get married to him. We're getting married on June 6th 2009. I am an animal lover and I have two German Shepherd puppies--Autumn and Storm. They are a handful but adorable! I enjoy going to metal shows, and just hanging out. I enjoy drawing with colored pencils when I am inspired. I am kinda boring but I like it that way, easily entertained.
