Here Is An F.B.I. Report I Was Given By A Friend:
"Christopher Moltisanti is the son of the late Richard "Dickie" Moltisanti, a longtime street thug who was gunned down in a pizza place on Bloomfield Avenue in Belleville. Dickie was Carmela's cousin and a mentor of Tony Soprano, i.e. the connection. Soprano refers to the younger Moltisanti as his nephew."
To our knowledge, Moltisanti is not a made guy, only an associate, but there is little doubt that he is being groomed for made status. He also goes to acting classes, recording sessions, knows Hollywood types, and dresses his girlfriend in high fashion. Wait until the media finds him. He's hot headed, impulsive, opinionated, wants to call his own shots. Also, it's said that he constantly second-guesses Tony's decisions. That will either get him respect or get him killed.UPDATE:Moltisanti was almost killed in a hit in a diner parking lot. (The hit was pure amateur hour. One of the shooters trapped himself in his car with his own seatbelt and Moltisanti, despite sustaining several gunshot wounds to the torso, was able to finish him off.) Apparently this incident caused Soprano to see his nephew in a new light; Moltisanti became a made man soon after his release from the hospital. From what we can determine, Soprano subsequently named Moltisanti acting capo of the Paulie Gualtieri crew while Gualtieri was incarcerated in Ohio on a weapons charge. This could not have been welcome news to older, more established crewmembers. Also, Moltisanti disappeared for some weeks recently, reportedly kicking a drug habit. A made man fresh out of rehab - this could be the chink in Soprano's armor we've been looking for.
