In mid 2002, Jason and Mike met at a movie rental store that Mike was working for, at the time in Nashville, TN. They started writing together and became the best of friends. Before long, they began collaberating on the majority of their material. Soon they realized they really had something. Their voices blended like a tall Miller Lite and a Marlboro. Soon after, they started hitting the town. They played everywhere possible, including: Bluebird Cafe, French Quater, Nashville Palace, Broken Spoke, and so many more. They had one problem though, they were a band with no name. One night while playing The Bluebird, Barbara Cloyd announced them to take the stage calling them rednecks in a joking manner. Not long after, heads butted and from that incident, rednecks became RedNickell. One absolute original duo out on a mission. Over the next four years, RedNickell struggled and strived in the nature of the late great Hank Williams. They seperated due to family issues and finances, were brought back together and once again out on a mission shopping their music and talent to anybody who would listen from Indy, IN to Miami, FL and all in between. They were always so close to success so many times in Nashville, that since leaving has brought them closer and even more driven to pursue this dream. So sit back and let this driven heartfelt on the edge, "country as beans" sound blow you away. This is one modern/traditional country duo that you will never forget. And always remember!
