LIVE AT WOODSTOCK AAN DE MAAS!
A long time ago...
...in the little town of Bethel, New York, over 400.000 young citizens were virtually left on their own at a music and arts fair named Woodstock. Being there they discovered the words sharing, helping, consideration and respect to be very powerful. It was far more than just a great rock concert and thousands left the event with a totally different outlook on life.
The bands onstage played their music with groove and soul like they never played before and the entire audience acted like one happy community, everyone felt connected. Peace and love were actually ‘cool’, or in better words, ‘far out’ and the people showed respect for arts, nature and each other. Back then, ‘different’ was called ‘unique’ and everyone enjoyed the freedom of speech, as long as you didn't hurt nobody.
Those people drove Volkswagen T1’s and wore colours instead of black and white. They followed their heart and didn't look so damn plastic. For most of them, art was a great way to express and deal with their feelings. They didn’t care about careers or money, and ‘fashion’ contained every style you could imagine.
There wasn't any law, just the law of love. Helping fellow-men and fellow-women was very common, they lived by the moment and cared about things that really did matter, so they marched for peace, freedom and equal rights. There was no place for fear or hate, they all lived on faith and trust. They really wanted to change the world. And they were called hippies.
Let's bring back those hippies...
