Born out of the movement, and still "strong." One of few organizations that are still alive and active since the 50's and 60's. M.E.Ch.A. de UCSC started in 1971? and has several programs that have been a tradition in the space. 22nd Annual G.E.N.T.E. (Getting Educated Now To Empowerment) Conference. 4th Annual O.R.A.L.E. (Oportunidades Rumbo A La Educacion) Conference. 2nd Queer of Color Open MIc. 3rd Soul Xpressionz. 3rd Noche de Cultura. We are an organization that continously fights to decolonize our minds of drugs, alcohol, sexism, homophobia, ageism, abelism, and classism through dialogue. We have a Gender Caucus weekly, and a position in CORE: Jota/o Caucus. We are always fighting for self-determination, concioussness, and self-sufficiency.
in struggle and solidarity,
M.E.Ch.A. de UCSC
