About Me

Jade always enjoyed singing but by the age of 11 decided it was a passion. At this time she started attending a vocal training group called Estate of The Arts which was run by the late Tony Lee. However, Jade was very shy and was not confident when singing in front of people. Aswell as singing Jade also loved acting and after being on the waiting list for eight years joined the established theatre school Ana Chere in Islington. By the time Jade started secondary school she joined another performing arts group called Ladders and went on to stay with them for the next six - seven years. During this time Jade performed in her first shows and began to write, record, perform her own songs and took part in various drama pieces. Jade went on to record a theme tune for the hit talent show Fame Academy which was aired on the BBC and also appeared in an artcle in the local Guardian. At college whilst studying Fashion and Clothing ( a third interest) Jade took part in most vocal classes being given but often found the level of professional help was not great. She then went on to study at The London College of Fashion for one year. Today taking a degree at Middlesex University in Photography (fashion) Jade Sophia looks to improve her voice as much as she can because she has come along way out of her shell and feels there is a lot more she can achieve with the right support. She has begun one to one vocal tuition which she hopes will improve her voice furthur and she continues to write songs incredulously whilst looking for the right producers and music engineers to produce professional tracks for a demo CD. In 2008 at the sweet age of 20 her main priorities are taking part in auditions and getting her songs aired so that she can receive constructive feedback. March 2008

Influences: I'm influenced by successful females. I do not believe you have to be the best singer to sing but I do believe you have to be able to perform and captivate your audience because if they can feel where you're coming from and identify with what you're saying you will be successful!
Sounds Like: I don't think I Particularly sound like anyone else LOL someone did say I sound like the british Ashanti though LOOOL. I'm very into hip hop and r&b so I think a big part of my sound is like this. I love rap and singing collaberations and am always looking for serious rappers/ mcs to do tunes with. I am very experimental and have written songs to hip hop beats. I would be able to sing over grime beats and I think it would be very interesting to do a funky house tune. Serious producers, rappers, mcs MSG ME ASAP!!!
