In 2001, a group of guys pulled a name from an ashtray and from the ashes came Manna Zen (true story, ask them about it sometime!). From that day a unique sound was created, a toxic and inviting crossing of genres such as rock, reggae, ska, funk, punk, metal, and hip hop to bring a sense of familiarity to every listener and make a crowd move. And move they do! An impossible to resist sound as unique as the people who create it and the name behind it all. Manna - meaning "The Bread of Life"- has come to represent the band's feeling towards music, that music is life. Vocalist Hayden Vega puts it best, saying "Though members have come and gone, the mindset has always been there to never pigeon-hole our sound but to stretch out to the masses and reach from within music itself, not a style or a form, just... music."Since their first show at the Road House in Orange Park, the crowd response has been one of genuine excitement and energy. Like a fresh breeze blowing through stale radio, it's music that moves and intoxicates. Never distancing themselves from the love of local and independent music, the members of Manna Zen have refreshed and renewed, beginning a new quest to awaken the senses of the masses. With tremendous energy on stage and larger-than-life charisma off stage, talking to these guys is like talking to an old buddy, full of intriguing tales and those little embarrassing moments, making them approachable and lovable. The flexibility of their sound will definitely have these guys coming to a club near you and rocking your radio.

Sounds Like: Two cups of rock, a cup of hip-hop, a half cup of funk. Toss in a dash of crowd participation, a handful of energy and bit of free-style to taste.
