Pence 4 Rookie of the Year

About Me

The Rookie of the Year award is given to one player from the National and American league. Originally, the award was named the J. Louis Comiskey Memorial Award. In 1987, in honor of the 40th year since Jackie Robinson broke the color line, it became known as the Jackie Robinson Award. The elite list of recipients include: Ryan Howard, Dontrelle Willis, Derek Jeter, Albert Pujlols, Nomar Garciaparra, Jeff Bagwell, Willie Mays, and of course the great Jackie Robinson. Hunter Pence’s diverse style of play is compared with players like Daryl Strawberry and Johnny Damon. Although his technique on the field is constantly being labeled “Unorthodox”, he still gets the job done. He can hit for power or precision, steal bases, and make incredible catches. Hunter Pence ‘s stats not just exceed all rookies, but is contending for the NL batting title (needs less than 20 to officially qualify). Finally, everyone who personally knows Hunter Pence would all agree that he is a great guy. He is addicted to smiling, loves his family, and is there for his friends. Throughout high school and college he never wanted to be the guy in the spotlight, but instead was always cheering that guy on. He is extremely humble, which is what motivated his friends to start this myspace page. Hunter from all your friends, family, and fans: We love you, but get ready…. Because we‘re pushing you into the spotlight.
