The band was formed by three people all invovled in different music projects. What they had in common was their dislike of the slow, sensitive, democratic process of making music utilized by their other bands. One winter night in 2007 they came together to make music in a new way. All processes were to be regulated by a musical manifesto. Actions which were against the rules of the manifesto would lead to the immediate dissolution of the band.
The manifesto dictates that only one member can be in control of the making of a certain song. This power applies to all things concerning the song, the choice of guest musicians, producers, forms of release of the song, marketing et cetera. The three members are all welcome to their opinions, but they cannot expect to be listened to when one of the other members is in control. Given that they’re satisfied with their own ideas, the members don’t have to stand for a result they dislike. There’s always someone else to blame.
The members of the band have decided not to use their real names. By using pseudonyms, together with the new way of making music, Al, Marc & Sandy hope to avoid long processes in the making of albums, the fear of a shattered sound, compromising and boredom.
So far so good.
