Pianist/composer/educator Greg Burk has studied and performed with some of the world's most respected jazz musicians. A former student of Yusef Lateef, Paul Bley and Danilo Perez, he has spent the last several years teaching at Boston's Berklee College of Music, working as a sideman with groups such as the Either/Orchestra, and leading a variety of groups featuring jazz luminaries Jerry Bergonzi, Gerald Cleaver, Bob Moses, and Steve Swallow among others. His increasingly personal sound, forged by a penchant for both memorable melodies and probing improvisation, has been documented on a number of recent recordings, including Checking In and Carpe Momentum on Italy's legendary Soul Note label and Nothing, Knowing and his most recent recording, The Way In, on 482 Music.
GREG BURK..S 3D IMAGE with John B. Arnold and Jonathan Robinson reflects Greg’s eclectic energy, combining electronica and contemporary jazz in a piano trio with effect pedals and a laptop. Roughly molding itself after the work of Frank Rich, creator of the pulp comic Sin City, where reality meets virtual. The musical direction spanning through a variety of musical genres including experimental and drum & bass. Where jazz tradition meets experimental music and an anything goes attitude. The true definition of modern jazz3D IMAGE has performed at festivals in Europe and in May performed for a week at the world renowned club of Wynton Marsalis "Dizzy..s Cola" sharing the stage with tenor great Joe Lovano.
