Derrick was born and raised in Toronto,Ontario. I now reside in Lindsay. I started playing guitar at age 11, and I have played bass for the past 25 plus years. I've had the pleasure to play with many big names like The Carlton Show Band,Tommy Hunter,Al Churney, and Con Archer, and have opened for George Jones and Farron Young in Michigan. For five years,I was the bass player in the band "Thunder run" for Donny Anderson and we had the pleasure to open for Charlie Major, Terri Clark, Frank Leahy, and Doc Walker. We also played live at Breakfast Television and had a showcase at the Royal York Hotel for the Ontario Association Of Agricultural Societies. In 2003, we had the oppertunity to play at the Havelock Country Jamboree. Presently, I am the bass player with The Blackfly Band. So far this year we have opened for Emerson Drive and Johnny Reid, Aaron Pritchett and Shane Yellowbird. We have many shows coming up this year.
