Hi & thanx for taking the time out to visit my site. I hope you like the tracks. I have put them on in their raw state as I feel there is a trend towards overproduction nowadays. I just get an idea & get it down on tape a.s.a.p without getting that ploughing through mud feeling you can get when you start reading the operating instructions of a recording machine. My professional career in music started when at the age of 11, I was head choirboy in Oxford – the job paid well – but started getting worried when one of God’s ambassadors kept staring at me in a funny way - time to leave.
I have since played in various bands all over the world but mostly in Europe. I now direct my passions & emotions into writing, playing & recording my own ideas & music.
I am honoured to have played, recorded & laughed the night away with Richard Thomson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bebo Valdes, Albert Lee, Flaco Jimenez, Mike Hugg, Mark Brzezicki. I have worked with Janice Long, Mick Robertson & Tommy Boyd to provide music for commercials & voice- overs. I have written music & songs for LWT, Heinneman & Richmond publishers & Oxford University Press…I am currently working on a series of films based on the origins & essence of flamenco music & dance, working with some brilliant artists.
I have also just finished writing & performing the music for an award winning theatrical production inspired by the poet Lorca. One of my most pleasurable & rewarding recent musical journeys was with my great friend Carl Chamberlain, a very talented musician & songwriter. He started a band called ‘eden’ that I joined in its infancy & I think we created some great work together. Please check us out on : www.myspace.com/ukeden We still work together though not as often as I’d like, due to distance, but long may it continue.I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t mention the following companions who contributed greatly towards my musical demise :-
Dean Robbins, Merv Steele, Pete Brooks, Pete Knight, Bob Mace, Rod Smith, Mike Burnett, Frank Harrison, Al Palmer, Guy Woods, Dr Steve Zodiac, Prof Steve Goodison, Cotty, Pete Cox, Eric McClements, Steve Partlett, Paul Gibbon, John Dagnell blah blah. Finally the biggest mention to the two stars in my eyes & who hopefully will keep my dim flame going into the future:- Henry Smith & George Smith, I simply just love them.
