RESERVATIONS FOR TWO

About Me

The strong sound of Reservations For Two consists of, and relies on the abilities of only two musicians. The lyricist/vocalist of the duo is Gretchen Von Cloedt. Gretchen has been singing and performing almost her entire life. She started with rigorous opera training and performing at the young age of 8. Which helped her to become the youngest member of the St. Louis Honors Choir, which was sponsored by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. While singing in bands here in St. Louis, Missouri, she learned to harness her own soulful, honest singing style and at the same time perfect her ability to poetically arrange her vision of reality with pen and paper. At the age of 18 she started merely collaborating with other musicians on her free time between school and work.
One of the musicians she began collaborating with is the instrumentalist and music arranger of the duo, 27 year old Tim Von Cloedt (Gretchen's last name was Smith at that time). Tim has performed and written music with numerous bands throughout the St. Louis area. At age 17, Tim started writing music in high school which is where he met Gretchen. After feeling as though he was wasting his time writing music for bands that were not serious about what they were doing, he decided to write for himself. But, Tim is not a singer. So, he decided to take his long time collaboration with Gretchen one step further and start performing as a musical duo. Both feeling that they have a place reserved for them in the spotlight, they aptly named themselves the only thing that made sense - Reservations For Two
When Gretchen is not working at her retail job, and Tim is not working at his desk job, they are together relaxing the only way they know how - writing music. Having played multiple places throughout the St. Louis area, and networking with other musicians via the internet, Reservations For Two has started to earn recognition for eclectic and original music that people can connect with on a personal level. And that can only be accomplished musicians by writing about the only thing that we all have in common. Life.
