Joe South worked as a guitar slinging session man for years before his first solo album was released. He had been a producer, songwriter and arranger for many different acts over the years and finally did all of the above for himself in 1968. His first album was released by Capitol Records in that same year. INTROSPECT was, and is, perhaps the most important singer/songwriter debut album ever released. His hit songs include HUSH, ROSE GARDEN, WALK A MILE IN MY SHOES, YO-YO, GAMES PEOPLE PLAY, DON'T IT MAKE YOU WANT TO GO HOME, FOR THE LOVE OF A WOMEN, CHILDREN, THESE ARE NOT MY PEOPLE and many more.
