Thanks for visiting the myspace for Chris Bentley's The Bunker Recording Studio. Since the studio opened three years ago I have seen a lot of success for my clients. There have been multiple Best of Baltimore Awards, strong airplay and label signings, all based on recordings done here at the studio. I understand my role as strictly that of engineer, and I don't meddle in artists' music. However, I bring a rich and varied background and a lot of experience to the session, and my opinion (ear) is usually helpful when needed. It has been needed a lot, and records done with me at the studio usually end up produced by the artist and myself.
. Here's what I'm about:
A recording studio exists to serve the music and the people
making it
Artist vision is everything
The role of the engineer is to enable the band to put its best
foot forward when their disc is being played not in their presence. Another
way to put it, my job is to make your vision undeniable on CD.
The role of an engineer is not
to "fix" your takes to his/her standards.
I won't advertise "comfortable relaxed environment". It's
a
freakin
studio.
My job is to get it documented, not to party.
I greatly appreciate everyone who
comes to record with me. This is my livelihood.
Here are some facts about the studio:
Located on York Rd, just north of Warren Rd in Cockeysville.
Hours are flexible. I've had bands absolutely cranking at 4A.M.
A great variety of music has been recorded at the studio. I've done
everything from death metal to polka, from bluegrass to rap. Tons of bands.
Layout:
The Live Room is 15x30 (sound: live and open)
The Dead Room
is 8x10 (sound: super tight very dry)
The Booth is about
5x7 (sound: controlled, slightly open)
The place is extremely modular. The acoustic panels are moveable,
as is the drum floor. There is a wall on wheels that can cut the room
in half if need
be. The
place
can
be
taylored
to
meet
your
requirements.
Both the Live Room and the Dead Room are viable
for drums, depends on the sound you are looking for.
