*Hi there, Barb here ~ welcome to my (new) page!
*First off, I would like to give much thanks and credit to Tim Braun, who did the arranging, backing guitar, and recorded me singing this song, "Grow Old With Me."
"Grow Old with Me" - it's a song that's dear to my heart, as I sang it to my husband Michael on our wedding day, February of '97. During the instrumental part of the song, my veil was momentarily stuck in a delicate ornamental tree. After a brief plea for help "Help, I'm stuck in the tree!!" - our best man, (and the pastor) quickly came to my aid. After they freed me from the tree's grip, I carried on with the song - without a hitch. Those in attendance? Well, I had them all in stitches for a moment, and all I could do was laugh along with them. Ah - "life!" ;)
*This song was recently recorded as a 50th. wedding anniversary present, for my dear Mum and Dad. Thanks again Tim!
*Formerly from the West Coast, I moved to Southern MB in the late 90's with my husband Michael. We are happily married, and have 2 great kids, a little boy & girl. And 2 cats - "Winkin" & "Blinkin."
*I have been singing since I was a young girl. While attending school, besides the required studies, I also threw myself into art/creative writing/ choir / guitar / musical theatre. Yes, my heart has always been in creating music, always attracted to music/ singing & discovering/ seeing many great bands over the years!
*I have had TONS of "hands on experience" with being a vocalist: from being involved in Musical Theatre in highschool, to being a member of 2 different choirs in Vancouver, B.C. (The Mastery Choir, & the Vancouver Outreach Soul Gospel Choir). I was involved in both choirs for 4 years. I also was a member of a great worship team (4 years) at my previous church in Vancouver, B.C. When we moved to Winnipeg, MB in '98 - I auditioned and got on a music team, at a popular Downtown Winnipeg church, an 8 year involvement.
*Basically, I LOVE to SING, especially something I can connect with, that speaks to my heart & resonates with me. Worship/praise songs, jazz songs, songs about life experiences, etc.
*And FUN - a big part of the equation!
