I would like to understand how stupid we have to be to allow this government to exist. Hell, if we can't laugh about it, we have to mourn...

I'd like to meet:
People in general. People that are interesting without trying too hard. People that are mutlifaceted and talented. People that will give me somthing to admire, or inspire me in some way. People that I would invite to coffee if they lived here. People that would invite me to coffee since they do live here. Bands and artists are welcome. One condition, though: please, no friend collectors. I really don't want to be part of some popularity aspiration. If you don't find anything interesting here, chances are that the feeling is mutual... ...

Heroes:
I am conflicted on this one...
I guess I share Brecht's thoughts that unhappy is the land that breeds no heroes, but happy is the land that needs no heroes...Lately, however, the most memorable quote I heard (ok, read) is:
"I am a pessimist because of intelligence, but an optimist because of will" by Antonio Gramsci
.
That almost qualifies him to become a hero, though I doubt he would ever accept the honor.
Also,
Sei Shonagon
