Fading Reality have been founded in April of 1997 , by two young boys (at the age of 16) , who had love for metal and music above all other things :
Aggelos Kouropoulos (guitar) and
Stavros Aivaliotis (bass). After a while
Takis Kavasis joined the band as a drummer. At that period , Fading Reality began to rehearshal some cover up songs , like Paranoid , The Trooper , For Whom The Bell Tolls and many other classic songs. The band also , created and rehearshed some of their own songs and at the beginning of 1998. The result was a demo recording tape named by
"City Of The Damned" which contained the following songs :
1.Intro , 2.City Of The Damned , 3.Farewell , 4.Crystal Ball , 5.Internationalitat , 6.Paranoid (originally by Black Sabbath). The need of finding a good vocalist was more than obvious by that time, so after testing a lot of people ,
Dimitris Kaperonis took worthly the position. At that period Fading Reality started to give some live shows , beginning at "Foinikes Club" , at Herakleio. Dimitris left the band at the end of '98 and another Dimitris (Jim) took his place. A new addition to the band were made during this period.
Alekos Basmajian was called to play the part of the second guitar player. Then they participated at a summer festival in Galatsi sqr , along with other bands and the same year (1998) it was time for another singer to take the lead vocals.
Dionisis Kontis replaced Jim and The band played at "Rainbow Club" in Ilioupoli. In 1999
Fading Reality appeared in two more shows , one at "Rigma Club" in Klauthmonos sqr and second at "Posto Club" in A.Patissia. Last but not the least , the final show of the band (till now) took place at "Woodstock Club" in Peristeri in early 2000. At that time , military obligations of one after the other band members , stopped the preparations of the next mini-cd recordings. Stavros departed from the band at 2001 and till the year of 2007 there was no progress for the band.
Thomas Kouris came for the position of the bass player , and before the summer of '07 , the band re-started rehearshing some unfinished business. In addition , at the end of '07 ,
Christos Vobirakis took the position of the second - but not least - guitar player and
Timos Valsamakis came to assist in the drums parts , due to unfortunate , Takis' departure.
We are currently recording our first promo-CD, which will contain 4 brand new songs.
