About Me

The world’s number 1 on-line destination for jazz is broadcasting on the Internet from the Monterey Peninsula in California.
The Monterey Bay area is well known for many things including world-class golf (Pebble Beach), robust boutique wineries (Carmel Valley), the Monterey Bay Aquarium (Cannery Row) and most certainly Monterey has earned a solid reputation as a jazz town with the nation’s oldest and possibly most well-known jazz festival; the 50-year-old Monterey Jazz Festival.
Radio personality and concert promoter, Sandy Shore, founded Smoothjazz.com in 1995. Originally, the on-line destination was used as a ticket outlet for Sandy Shore Productions’ locally produced concert events. However, by the late 1990’s the Website had been transformed into a global presence for Smooth Jazz offering exciting information for both artists and fans alike.
By the turn of the century, Smoothjazz.com Radio began broadcasting in digital stereo. Around the same time, the Smoothjazz.com Top 50 Chart publication debuted, designed for music industry professionals and reported to weekly by a distinguished panel of nearly 70 reporting radio stations.
Defining Smooth Jazz for a world of listeners through the art of seamlessly fusing elements of jazz, nu-jazz, neo-soul and world rhythms, Smoothjazz.com Radio streams a deep mix of music for a global audience. The station currently broadcasts an average of 2 million listener hours per month, while the site enjoys nearly 250,000 unique visitors on a monthly basis.
