I keep rotating the songs on my profile: Adam's Attic, Legion of Doom, and Plumb. My sister won't allow us to have the same song on our profiles. Shhh...Don't tell her that I switched again.I manage and promote Adam's Attic , a pop/rock band from New Orleans, LA. Even though the hours can be long, it is great to have faith and belief in a project. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen." If you can find something you believe in, the work can be really fun and can take a life of its own. I found that I love organizing concerts and sold-out events. It is an awesome to see the fruition of your work, which fosters my fundamental belief that all of life is sowing and reaping.In the past year, so much has changed, and the cup keeps overflowing with blessings. Imagine if your whole life changed overnight. You didn't know this was the last night that you would sleep in your house in your bed, or that this was the last day that you would sit at your desk in your office. For many people who lived in New Orleans on August 29, 2005, their whole lives changed overnight. The difference was in the way people dealt with the change.After going through everything last fall, I remember lying in bed in my new house every morning for about two weeks and suddenly having the desire to have a job that would take me to Italy and Spain. I hadn't told anyone. On December 13, 2005, I received a call. An elderly man asked, "Would Adam's Attic like to go on tour to Italy, Spain, and Portugal?"I answered, "Hmm, let me see. I'm going to have to think about that." (Are you nuts? I'm just kidding!)When I was running with my Aunt Milet on a July morning, I was thinking about what a tremendous year it has been.
-In January and February, I traveled to Italy, Spain, Portugal, and the Azores Islands on tour with Adam's Attic . The band began realizing one of many dreams to share their music with the world. We also stopped at one of the most fabulous places on earth, Taormina, Italy.
-In March, I booked a U.S. west coast tour for one of the biggest bands to come out of Belgium, Girls in Hawaii ( China Shop Music ). 60K records and counting...
-In April, I started Amp'd Up Music , an artist management/creative development company with a team of people, whose skills and talents continually exceed my expectations. AUM was represented by my partner at one of the top music conferences held in West Hollywood, California. Some of the world's most influential music leaders attend this annual conference.
-In May, Adam's Attic's "Bring It Back" concert at House of Blues almost sold out even though the group had not played that market since before Hurricane Katrina.
-In June and July, I went on a second overseas tour with Adam's Attic to Greenland, which was so much fun. For a moment, we were literally "on top of the world" above the Artic Circle (with 24 hours of daylight). I met people who entered and forever touched and altered my life.
Currently, I am working to develop the careers of other artists and now have the desire to tour places in the Pacific and Indian Oceans.Although I have used "I" many times, I couldn't have done any of these things alone. The right people were placed in my path at the right time to be a part of the team, to help, to offer opportunity, and/or to guide and encourage me. It has a been a process of sowing and reaping.Some days are difficult and filled with challenges, yet the blessings overflow immeasurably. In my life, I am truly being blessed above and beyond all that I could ever think or imagine.Updated 07.30.06
