I specialize in dog behavior. Creator of ZENDOG CANINE BEHAVIOR & TRAINING. Training and modifying behavior in companion dogs, shelter dogs, unsocialized dogs, aggressive dogs. Zendog works with all breeds, ages, and 'issues'.
Zendog focuses on creating balance within the canine/human realtionship. Working off the principles of Balance - Motivation - Stability. Zendog firmly believes in assisting owners to understand how to balance the mind of their canine. Also teaching owners that dogs feed off of our energy. Dogs speak to us each day - it is up to us to determine what they are saying. Zendog focuses on each dogs individual specific needs.
I have an immense amount of respect for dogs - thankfully, I live the majority of my life surrounded and immersed with dogs. In order to work with dogs and be successful whether they are your own dog or your clients dog, there must be a foundation of respect. Once there is an understanding of respect you can proceed in your training process.
I look forward to a day where people will not rely on shock collars and harsh punishment to communicate to their dog.
I support responsible caretaking of all animals. I also support responsible ownership of ALL breeds - learn what your breed or breed mix's strong points are and work off of that. All dogs should have a job and should work for things - give your dog a task. Work the mind and the soul with thrive.
My passion is The American Pit Bull Terrier - A very distinquished and tenacious breed that I hold in the highest regard. This breed has proven to be an amazing working, performance and true companion dog.

Shelter Dogs
I have spent countless moments of solitude with shelter dogs. I have just sat there, appreciating what they have to offer. I appreciate that they have let me in...into their world. A world of which can be so chaotic at times that it is unimagineable to most. I have been working with shelter dogs for 10 years and the light never dims when I am around them. I have encountered probably every temperment conceiveable. I am humbled to say that even the most aggressive and fearful dogs have opened their door to me. I am a proud voice for the quality of life in shelters animals. So often it is overlooked and easy to forget - out of sight, out of mind. Shelter dogs deserve human companionship, a clean dry kennel with a comfy bed and warm blanket. They deserve toys and bones and exercise. Most importantly they deserve peace of mind - something that is so often taken for granted.
Fighting Pit Bulls
I feel a strong desire to ask this question: If you were a dog would you like to be fought? Most people who tend to be critical of not only this breed but of actual 'fighters' never stop to think about it that way. What type of a life does a fighting Pit Bull have? What must they endure on a daily basis? For their short time on earth they endure serious torture. There is just no other way to descirbe it but torture. I know this for a fact, not because I have read about it in a newspaper. But because I have worked and been surrounded by it for years. I have watched fighting dogs come in to animal control and they are anxiety ridden, climbing the walls to get to another dog. As dangerous as they may or may not be I stop and think to myself, my goodness poor child what have you had to endure in your tragic life? These dogs need just as much of a voice if not more of a voice than the rest. Please do not judge and hate these dogs who are victims as well- yes, victims of a truly serious inhumane crime - until you have walked a day in their scared body.
R.I.P. Mercy and Maximus - and all the other animals abused, tortured and neglected by humans. May all of your innocent souls rest in peace- and may we become a better nation to our animals.
Thor - Jessie - Tread
Thor:
Thor was and always will be my best friend. We understood one another without words or actions. We were together for 11 years and each day was more vibrant than the next. Thor and I both learned very much from one another - this is a relationship that I will always hold so dear to my heart. I miss you my friend, the days are not the same.
Jessie:
Jessie and I were meant to be together - fate planned it that way. I met Jessie when she was approx. 2 years old - she had an embedded collar in her neck and had been used as a 'bait' dog for Pit Bull fighting. She has always remained with a constant love of life and smile across her sweet face. Jessie appreciates everything and has made my life brighter.
Tread:
Thank you Tread, for saving me - the mere thought of you sets my soul at ease. My sweet love, I adore you.

Zen Dog supports quality of life for shelter animals - make a stand and be heard. Some shelters try to hide behind the "No Kill" concept and their dogs often need the most rescuing. Support a shelter for the right reasons - not just because they are "No Kill" - what is the quality of life at that shelter for their animals?
SHAME ON MICHAEL VICK! It is all TOO easy for people to use a defenseless Pit Bull to boost their sorry ego.
