Raised in the small farming community of Sabina Ohio, Brent Bogan had country music on the mind since the age of eight. It was official, after watching an NBC televised concert of Garth Brooks, Brent was hooked on the genre of music. Before entering high school, Bogan picked up the guitar and the addiction of guitars caught on. Christmas after Christmas, Brent kept asking for and adding more guitars to his collection. In the later part of the 90's, Brent started entering music competitions, it was at a music competition where Dave Hardin discovered Brent on stage. Immediately after the show, Hardin invited Brent to sing at the historic "Paint Valley Jamboree" in Bainbridge Ohio. One show led to invites to others. Bogan won 1st place in the "Traveling STAR SEARCH" Dayton Ohio competition and was invited back to the next show for a non-competing guest perfromance. It would be his invite to the "County Classic Opry" in Hillsboro that would light the fire to Brents music. This show was one of his most memorable ones, "It blew my mind that I was standing on the same stage that Johnny Paycheck and a couple members of Rascal Flatts started on." Rascal Flatts and Johnny Paycheck are just a few of the major recording artists from Ohio that got their start in what has been nicknamed the "Country Corn Circle" of Ohio. Bogan entered the Colgate Country Showdown in Marysville Ohio. Fifty-four people entered the contest, 10 made it to the actual final show at the fairgrounds to play. Brent received runner-up (2nd out of 54th place) in the competition and was also runner up to open the Tuscarawas County Fair for "Dust on the Bottle" singer, David Lee Murphy.
Brent entered the American Modeling and Talent Convention in the year 2000. This brought him to the big stage in Hilton Head Islands, Hyatt Hotel. Brent would have a 5 day competition against people from all over the United States, Canada, as well as entertainers from Australia. Brent, who was still a minor at the time, received 2nd place overall in the country music youth vocalist category. Brents music resume continued to build and strengthen. Bogan headlined several county fairs with a band, until the year 2001. Rarely stepping foot on a stage, Bogan took time off to go to college and in 2003, transferred schools to Murfreesboro, TN to be within close proximity to Nashville. The first summer Brent arrived in Tennessee Bogan auditioned for several writers nights, including the famous "Broken Spoke Cafe" where Tim McGraw was discovered. To date, Bogan has never not passed an audition for songwriting or singing. After his graduation from college in the Spring of 2006, Bogan plans on pursuing a songwriting career once again. "I feel that I've put my toes in the water my first summer in Tennessee, after college I'm ready to make the full jump in."
