Uncas Tribe is indeed the band with nine lives. Originally formed in 1991 by Uncas Rydén and Staffan Ericson, the band was joined by bassplayer Gian Kündig and drummer Daniel Gibson in 1994, while Staffan went his separate ways. Together with guitarist Henrik Pilquist , who joined the band in 2000, Uncas, Gian and Daniel have formed the back-bone of the band ever since. Following a break during the early years of the millennium, the Uncas Tribe are back with a vengeance! Once upon a time we were a band of nine, including a brass section. Today things are simpler, the music is straight forward, more direct than it used to be in those days of youthful enthusiasm. The center of attention is the melody, the harmonies, the beauty of the song. That's what we focus on, that is what we're guided by today. And with that city on the hill to keep our course, new songs are in the making, new recordings on the way. Await their release as summer turns to fall. Until then, make do with a couple of earlier songs – the studio recordings This time, baby, When she comes and Christina, and Room Full of Mirrors, a live recording from a performance at Göteborgs Pusterviksbaren. Like the rest of the band's material, they were written by Uncas Rydén.
The brothers are on the move, the Uncas Tribe are hopefully coming to a theater near you. Soon. Check out this site for details on upcoming shows and new releases. Until we meet, enjoy. And be sure to hear from us again. Soon.
