About Me

Russell Frampton, My recent musical interests have involved mixing jazz guitar influences with loops and sound effects/dialogue, in a shift away from my Bluegrass and folk roots to push improvisation and composition towards new directions. Some of these pieces reflect my recent film making process, in how I generate material and edit into structures. I still like the sound of my old Telecaster copy and tend to use it as my main guitar I also play and Ibanez jazz guitar, Washburn 335 copy and my trusty Tama acoustic. I am an original member of Folk Rockers The Joyce Gang, with John Redmond paul Downes , Dave Mckeoun, Paul Wilson, and have played with Cult Exeter based surrealistic skiffle troup The Venoms, + Chris Garratt, Spud Taylor, Crazy Legs Johnstone, Martin Fenton etc etc The moonlighters with Jerry Cahill and Dave Johnstone, The Blackberry Pickers with Howard Yates and Dave, The Bluegrass flyers Marc Woodward, Dr Dave Hilton Steve Ewart...... Also played duos with Great guitarist Dave Wood, and with Nic Scott [Uillean pipes] I play Irish rhythm guitar and flatpicker of tunes on guitar, bluegrass guitar and singer, mandolin, mandocello, fiddle and fan of progressive Jazz funk. Played with Funk legends The Voodudes with Rob Rickey and Fred Ereshmann, Bully, Nathan and Tony Plato, and early member of groovers The Beaver Bros with Fred and Tim. I also produce music for Dance/Art films [ www.enclave.org.uk ]
