Sadly SUMO DURHAM is no more. We have had to stop the Rock Night at Studio with immediate effect. So this Friday, SUMO will not be on… and has stopped for good…
We’ve had an absolute blast over the past 12months, and we really really wanted to make a late rock night work in the city of Durham. Sadly the powers-that-be have told us that it is not working financially so we would need to up the door price and the drinks prices too, and we know you guys wouldn’t come out if that was the case. We are sorry, but it was taken out of our hands.

Big thanks to all the regulars and the 100 or so die-hard Sumo fans that have stuck thru with us to the end. Big thanks to Steel Paintbrush, the Angel and all the Durham shops that helped us out with promo. Cheers to the bands that came and played and gave us a shot, Frank Turner, Bullets and Octane, Pigeon Detectives, Kubichek and the rest. Thanks to Scott, Jamie, Gaz and everyone at Studio who have all been legends.

So Durham, we bid you farewell. We fucking LOVED coming over there every week, and we will miss it.
