Alternative Entertainments is a multi-disciplinary arts organisation based in Tallaght, south county Dublin. Our annual program consists of music festivals, visual arts exhibitions and work shops, music recitals and work shops, music education projects, collaborative community art schemes, an annual children's art week, an art and health project in collaboration with Tallaght hospital, creative writing projects, film making projects, drama projects, public art interventions, artists' bursaries, CD production, literary publications and provision of artists studios. Our 2009 program begins with The Tallaght Tradition-a concert featuring some of Tallaght's finest traditional musicians. performing on the night will be Paul Kelly, Alan Doherty, Tony Byrne, Katerina Garcia, Tom Moran and many more. This event will take place on February 13th at 8pm in RUARed Art Center, Tallaght Dublin 24. It is the launch of our 2009 arts and health project Ceol & Slainte, run in conjunction with Tallaght hospital, which will consist of recitals and workshops in the hospital's wards and public atrium, as well as a week long festival in November. Alternative Entertainments acknowledges the financial support of the Arts Council and south Dublin County Council in making this project possible
