Karen

Karen grew up in the Mid-West Near St. Louis, Missouri. Growing up in the 60's exposed her to all the great female folk/rock musicians of the time. The emergence of Country-Rock bands such as the Eagles, and experimental rock bands like Pink Floyd and the Moody Blues were also great influences in developing her style. So inspired was she to learn the guitar, that she pleaded with her father to buy her a guitar at age 10, which of course was barely playable and purchased at the local "five and dime" department store. Living in a rural area, it was impossible to travel to town for lessons, so having alot of time on her hands she taught herself to play with the help of a correspondance course and sheet music. Since then she has been playing for anyone and everyone who will listen. Karen now resides in South Florida and in her native Missouri. She enjoys playing solo, or accompanying other musicians. She has written several original works as well.
