About Me

John Frazier is originally from Shreveport, La. He started playing saxophone at the tender age of six having no idea that it would ever turn into a ministry. At that same age he accepted Christ as his Savior during a Revival at his church. Combining the love of Jesus and this talent that he was unaware of would soon change his life in unexpecting ways. John was a home schooled student for most all of his schooling, so it left him plenty of time to perfect his musical abilities in a way that would be pleasing to Christ. During his Senior year, he was sponsored by Allen Swilley as a private student to tryout for the All District Honor Band in Louisiana. He made the band which also made it possible for him to try out for the Louisiana All State Band. John not only passed the tryouts for All State Band ( which he is only the second Home School student to do so in Louisiana), he made it on Alto, Tenor AND Baritone saxophones! Of course, having a love for the lower sounding instruments, he played Baritone for the concert. John also performed on Tenor sax with Mike Williams (lead trumpet, Count Basie Orchestra) and Gary Hallquist (Saxophonist) in the All City Jazz Band under the direction of Bill Causey Jr. John has performed over the past 10 years with the Shreveport Metropolitan Concert Band on Sopranino, Soprano, Alto and Baritone saxophones, Eb clarinet, Bb clarinet, and bass clarinet. During the winter of 2000, John started and was a part of a saxophone quartet (The Saxy Guys) consisting of saxophonists from the Shreveport Metro Band. The quartet would go on to perform at many festivals, malls, retirement centers, churches, and just about any other venue you could think of. John left the group last year in order to further pursue his solo gospel ministry.Throughout the years of playing music, John would occasionally perform at his church for different events. John knew that he wanted to make a ministry out of his music the very first time he was asked to perform at another church and he realized how many hearts he could reach out to. This new feeling, this joy in his heart has led him all over the U.S. spreading God's word through testimony, song, and a little bit of laughter. Being under the influence of many different Jazz saxophonists and having such a great love for Gospel music, John plays the best of both worlds in order to create an incredible worship experience. Even though there aren't any words to John's music, you will still recognize most of the tunes. If you listen really close, you'll hear John sing, even weep through his instrument. Music is a key aspect instilled in us which can glorify our Creator. In music we move our hearts and spirits to glorify God whether there are words to it or not. God has blessed us with music as a way to pray without words.John is available and willing to travel in order to share God's word in any way he can. SG ministries is completely faith based, so there's nothing in the way of hearing God's word though one of the most beautiful instruments in history. Hope to see you soon! Thanks for stopping by. God Bless.... Much Love! John Frazier
