happily hitting the drums since the age of twelve Nico found himself playing lot's of different music very soon through good private teachers and serious music academy training.
So he decided it was time for the next step at the jazz department of the conservatory in his home town,Antwerp. It is in this period he was taught and influenced by guys like Jan De Haas, Dré Pallemaerts, Stéphane Galland , Chander Sardjoe and Billy Hart.This wide range of influences and personal investigations into jazz, polyrhythmic concepts, Brazilian & Cuban music and good old rock&roll led to an active career in music.On the jazz side of things he has performed with musicians like Nathalie Loriers, Jan De Haas, Jef Neve, Nicolas Kummert, Marco Locurcio, even Toots Thielemans.
At the same time he has been working with singer/songwriters like Philippe Robrecht, Antoon Walgrave and Trixie Whitley as well as laying down fat grooves for DJ Jerboa and Skeemz.
With Roberto Olivan's "De Farra" dance performance he added extra groove to Pierre Bastien's music machines, travelling France, Portugal, Sweden and South-Korea.
Currently Nico is playing with Fables of Fungus, Zoshia and sharing the drumseat of Lady Linn's Magnificent Seven. Check it out!Discography:
