I created my layout at KillerKiwi.netAyatana are a three piece band from Manchester playing bluesy hard rock with groove. The band was formed by Mike Brotherton and Matt Fitzpatrick. Eddie Wastnidge joined the band last summer completing the line up after the departure of Dan Leigh earlier in the year. Their four track demo EP, recorded in '07, led to a string of successful gigs at venues such as Dry Bar, Night & Day, The Ruby Lounge, as well as a live appearance on the Artradio project at The Cornerhouse and various other local radio airplay. Ayatana’s live performances have been well received; this is documented in a review from Guest List Music of the band at ‘In the City’, October 20th ‘07 at the Ruby Lounge.
In March ’09 the band travelled to Ryburn Studio in Yorkshire to record 3 tracks for a new EP entitled ‘The Loafer’. A final track was recorded at Adelpi Studios in Salford in May. Currently, Ayatana are preparing a CD release for the EP, which will be available for sale at future gigs and are looking to perform live as often as possible.
