In The Basement Productions

About Me

A major movement in television is about to begin…

THE SKINNY: “In The Basement Productions” is a full service Production Company specializing in the development, filming and production of original concepts for television, film and web broadcast with a strong focus on pop culture/music driven/reality based programming. “In The Basement Productions” is in the process of developing a wide variety of shows ranging from docu-soaps to scripted comedies.
ITB Productions has filmed and produced television programs and viral video content with some of entertainment's biggest talent including 50-Cent, LeBron James, Tony Yayo, Alonzo Mourning, Naughty By Nature, John Singleton, Tom Wolfe and Fat Joe as well as major corporations including Toyota, Pontiac, Sirius Radio, DirecTV, Unique Autosports, DuPont/Spies Hecker and the Music Rising Charity.
We're also using our creative talents to produce Electronic Press Kits (EPK's) in HD for musicians, filmmakers and artists looking to promote their talents via viral videos on their websites, YouTube and MySpace, as well as "Behind The Scenes" and "Making Of" footage for music videos, film and dvd packages. Whether it’s creating and pitching their own ground-breaking content or developing ideas from outside producers, ”ITBP” can do it all.
THEY GOT THE BEATZ: “In The Basement Productions” is also the parent company to “In The Basement Music,” a full service music supervision company and music library for Film and Television. Founded by Scott Speed, an accomplished Music Supervisor and a gifted composer for film and television, the ITBM library offers a wide variety of genres from some of the hottest new artists throughout the world.“In The Basement Music” also offers custom crafted, original music to meet the specific needs of your film or television projects.

MAD SKILLZ: The original team members of “In The Basement Productions” met while working on the hit reality show “Unique Whips” on Fox’s Speed Channel. It was during the production of that series where they discovered they all shared the same passion for creating compelling television. Each individual brought their own set of unique skills to the table while sharing the same vision and love for making great television. It was then they decided to break away and start their own production company…

IT'S ALL IN THA NAME: President and Executive Producer Jessica Iaccarino founded “In The Basement Productions” with her business partner Scott Speed in 2006. Jessica chose the name “In The Basement Productions” for its dual meaning...the company literally started in the basement of her Long Island home, and figuratively speaking, the company was built from the ground up with nothing but love, sweat, tears and a few hundred trips to Starbucks. Many of today’s geniuses in the entertainment industry, from 50 Cent to Stephen King, began their monumental careers in their basements, so what better name for their dream company than “In The Basement Productions?” You gotta start somewhere, right?
IT WAS ALL A DREAM: “In The Basement Productions” is poised to take the industry by storm with its versatile group of creative minds. Making exceptionally entertaining TV isn’t just something they do, it’s who they are...they eat, sleep and breathe this stuff. It’s that kind of passion and devotion that drives them to go above and beyond their limits on each and every project they undertake. When you work with “In The Basement Productions” you’re getting the best in the game with a work ethic second to none.
REPRESENT BABY: “In The Basement Productions” is currently represented by the N.S Bienstock Agency for their original, ground-breaking content in which they are currently producing and pitching. N.S Bienstock represents many of the leading production companies such as RDF Media, (Wife Swap, Biggest Loser, Don’t Forget the Lyrics) Reveille LLC (The Office, Blow Out and The Restaurant) and Sharp Entertainment (The Fabulous Life and Confessions of a Matchmaker) to name a few.
Jessica's MySpace Page

“Jessica is the savvy journeywoman, sardonically funny and full of ideas.” ~Matt Roush, TV Guide
Over the past 10 years, Jessica has earned the respect of many of the industry’s leading producers, editors, critics and television executives. She has built a strong reputation for developing projects with style and substance, constantly pushing the creative envelope. She continues to bring innovative concepts and insights to the table.

Jessica began her career working for VH-1 in 1997, writing and producing hundreds of segments for channel trademarks like “Before They Were Rocks Stars” and “The Hundred Greatest Series.” In 2001, she was scouted by Nickelodeon to start up their new Digital Network “Nicktoons TV.” As Senior Producer, she built the network from the ground up and was involved in every aspect of the network’s creation and branding. In 2003, her hard work and unique style caught the eye of Dash Films, an independent production company owned by rap mogul and business entrepreneur Damon Dash. She spent two years developing and producing highly stylized, music driven projects for Dash Films such as “The Truth: Beanie Sigel” for MTV2, “Behind The Scenes: Kanye West, Jesus Walks” DVD and “Rocawear Spring 2004 Collection” for BET. In 2005, she left Roc-A-Fella Records and began working at Hollywood East Entertainment where she headed up production for the hit reality show “Unique Whips” airing on Fox's Speed Channel. It was Jessica’s vision, unique managerial skills and unbridled passion which led the flailing show out of a major first season ratings slump and turned it into the second highest show on the network. Unique Whips, seen by more than 1.2 million viewers each week, jumped 60 percent from an average Nielsen Rating of .27 (171,000 HH) for show premieres in 2005 to .43 (283,000 HH) in 2006.
In addition to supervising the hit series, she founded “In The Basement Productions” with her partner Scott. Jessica and her dream team are now creating and developing their own content.
In April of 2007, Jessica was selected out of thousands of talented producers nationwide to compete in the reality series “America’s Next Producer” produced by Magical Elves (Project Runway, Top Chef). The show was a great experience for Jessica both personally and professionally, and has solidified her credibility in the television industry.
Scott's MySpace Page

Scott Speed represents the perfect balance between creative thinking, business know-how and the occasional circus juggling act when needed. A true artist, Scott started off his career composing and producing original music for major companies such as Citibank and Tommy Hilfiger as well as scoring independent films with directors like Katherine Brooks (Finding Kate, The Osbournes, Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica) and Greg Manago (Serenity, VH1 Goes Inside, Bravo Profiles). His innate talent for pairing the perfect music with visuals and a solid background in audio engineering led to his role as Music and Audio Supervisor for three seasons on “Unique Whips.” To meet the show’s insatiable appetite for fresh music, Scott established an insanely talented network of up and coming artists he discovered from across the country to fuel each episode of “Unique Whips,” and he recently created “In The Basement Music,” a full service music supervision, library and placement company for the film and television industry.

When he’s not doing audio or camera work in the field, Scott is a creative tour de force in post-production. From producing, editing, audio mixdowns, Photoshop layouts and After Effects graphics to developing show ideas, production management and show budgeting, he manages the daily business and creative operations at “In The Basement Productions.”
Lisa's MySpace Page

Lisa Marinaro is a producer extraordinaire at “In The Basement Productions.” She began her career as an intern on “Unique Whips,” but her natural gift for crafting compelling storylines combined with her technical prowess and organizational savvy quickly catapulted her through the ranks. Within two years, she earned the position of Producer on the show and churned out some of the most memorable episodes of the series. Lisa’s position at “ITBP” can best be described in one word...irreplaceable! Whether she’s editing in post-production or behind the camera in the field, she brings her unique vision to every project she works on and is a creative force to be reckoned with. As if that weren’t enough, Lisa is currently developing a handful of entertaining show ideas for “In The Basement Productions.”
Dave's Myspace Page
It’s hard to sum up Dave Jones in one title...but he’s definitely “ITBP’s” go-to guy with a diverse range of talents the likes of which we’re still trying to grasp. On the one hand, Dave is our resident tech guru: one part MacGyver when the server goes down, one part Wizard of Oz when we need missing footage to magically reappear, and one part Bill Gates whenever the computers give us major attitude.
But Dave also has a ridiculously creative side that we’re finally tapping into which borders on genius. He’s never been one to think outside the box, he just ditched the box altogether and that’s just the way we like him. Bottomline, Dave is a talented...well, everything! From directing and producing viral videos for MySpace and designing graphics for a TV episode, to a cool-handed camera op and an eagle-eyed director of photography in the field, his inimitable style and sensibility adds a whole new dimension to everything he touches.
