I have created this page to store Waites family photos and also provide a little history on the Waites family. Spellings include Waites/Waits/Waights/Wait/Waitz/Waite and any others that I have overlooked. I will be updating this page as often as I can. Beginning with myself, I was born a Waites. My paternal grandmother's maiden name is Bishop so some of the photos may represent that family name. My great grandfather was a Waits. He added an "e" to the spelling of our last name for reasons we are not sure about. It could have been a census error that stuck or could have been for personal reasons, we don't know. My father's mother began researching her husband's family in her 40's and continued her research up to the day she became ill. I made a vow to continue her research or at least keep it up to date. I do as much as my schedule allows.
