Secret Phonographic Society @ PureSpace MCR

I am "Secret" of The Secret Phonographic Society, founded in 1908 by several members of Mancunian high society. Shunning the more ‘popular’ music halls, The Secret Phonographic Society was conceived as an organisation playing a wide variety of quality music that one may not have heard at the time, with additional performances by writers, comedy persons, conjurers and the like, to provide non-musical jollities. Expect music both independent and obscure! Little is known about the early years but The Secret Phonographic Society has survived drastic changes in popular taste, two world wars and ‘Madchester’. Current committee members of the Society, the celebrated Disc Jockeys Mr Mike Joyce (the Smiths), Mr Andy Woods (Smile/South) and That Lazysunday Dj (Glastonbury 07) have now been tasked with recruiting new members and will soon be holding the first of their monthly meetings. This event is exclusive and by invite only. Prospective members are asked to bring an open mind with them so as to truly enjoy the experience. Some very special guests are promised to add to the sparkle of the evening, making this an event that should be both joyous and memorable.
