July 23, 2008 (NEW YORK) – Pure soul was in the air last night at R&B Live NYC as Epic Records’ new artist Noel Gourdin celebrated the release of his debut album After My Time along with the talented singer/songwriter Eric Roberson. The night began with the smooth stylings of Vaughn Anthony (the brother of John Legend) who sang the single, “Humpin’ to the Beat.” Then Eric Roberson wowed the crowd with the thoughtful songs “Couldn’t Hear Me” and “Pretty Girls.” In true creative fashion, Eric even freestyled a hilarious song by asking the audience to shout out six subject words which were: “panties,” “stilettos,” “money,” “robots,” “diamonds” and “Obama.” By the end of his set, he had everyone laughing and chanting “Obama” to the impromptu tune.
However, the man of the hour was definitely Noel Gourdin, who steamed up the room with the sexy tune, "Summertime." The evening’s grand finale, of course, was Noel’s soulful hit single, “The River,” which had everyone swaying to the melody. Guests in the room last night included Sony Urban Music VP of A&R Chad Elliott, Kedar Entertainment/Korus Wines’ Kedar Massenburg, Latina Magazine’s Editor-At-Large Bev Smith, singer/songwriter Gordon Chambers, Stalin Entertainment’s Larry “Lucky” Fernandes and Trakaddix’s Tommy Oliviera.

- Universal Motown Artist, Q-Tip
“I absolutely loved it, I think it’s important and necessary. Seeing live music in a setting with our musical peers is something that has been missing. Venue was amazing and talent was great. Loved the fact that aspiring artists and unsigned artists are allowed to perform in front of that type of crowd. Countt me in as a regular!”
