Movies:
These are films I could watch over and over ... Harold and Maude (best by a stretch – Cat Stevens soundtrack, legend), Don’t Look Now (another great soundtrack: Pino Donaggio), City of God, American History X, Blazing Saddles, Raising Arizona, Terms of Endearment (get the tissues out!), Hero, The Hudsucker Proxy, Belle Epoque, Catch22, Bitter Moon, Fight Club, Casablanca, Pulp Fiction, Life of Brian, Matrix (original and best), Taxi Driver, Kill Bill (gotta see the two together), Itchi the Killer, I Went Down, Star Wars (originals), can’t beat Jason and the Argonauts and Clash of the Titans for entertainment, Jaws and Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang (Ian Fleming connection there), … I’ll think of more :)
Books:
Catch22 (Joseph Heller - just superb), The Great War for Civilisation (Robert Fisk), The Lord of the Rings (JRR Tolkien - lost count of how many times I’ve read this), American Power and the New Mandarins (Noam Chomsky), was always a fan of Douglas Adams (used to always carry around The Meaning of Liff, with me, DA and John Lloyd) and Terry Pratchett, Switch Bitch (Roald Dahl) is just hilarious, Brave New World (Aldous Huxley), Jaws (Ian Fleming), for holiday reading: Jonathan Kellerman, John Le Carré, Stephen King, Tom Clancy …
