12 Pack Jack

About Me

12 Pack Jack is the new blues band in Buffalo. Last year, the paths of five musicians who have been playing in the area for years crossed – and the convergence of these paths has produced a memorable blues band worth seeing. Their repertoire featured exciting, high energy traditional blues mixed with cool jazz blues, a few hot jump tunes, silky ballads, and classic R&B.The band’s rock solid rhythm section lays down a foundation for searing saxophone, hot guitar licks, and edgy vocals unlike any you’ll hear in town. Catch one set, and you’ll realize this band is much more than the usual three chord blues band we’ve all come to expect. This is a band that obviously has fun playing – the kind of fun that infects their audiences. You’ll hear everything from Howlin Wolf to Miles Davis, BB King to Van Morrison, Albert Collins to Coco Montoya, Brian Setzer to Joe Cocker, Buddy Guy to Tom Waits. The common thread through all 12Pack tunes? Quality music – for the fun of it.The band features Barry Arbogast on tenor sax. Bruce Hale on guitar/vocals Joe Scrivo on bass/vocals, Tim Wojcik on drums, and Jack “12PackJack” on guitar/vocals.

Band Members: Jack McArdle – aka 12 Pack Jack Guitar and Vocals
Jack is a frustrated wannabe drawbridge mechanic who graduated from University of Kansas with a degree in Microbiology (germs and viruses). After a stint trying to make his education work for him he gave up and began a career as a computer hacker geek. To date, his employers truly believe he can write programs, and pay him accordingly. He began playing guitar at age 10, and has been trying to get it right since. His love of the blues stems from his depraved childhood as the son of an East Amherst physician. The treatments for his extremely damaged vocal chords seem to have no effect (except for the liver damage), yet he bravely sings his heart out for WNY audiences.

Barry Arbogast - Saxaphone
Barry just wants to play as much as possible. He must have a job or something because sometimes he'll wait a whole week to collect his portion of the big money we make..

Bruce Hale - Guitar and Vocals
OK – none of really know who this Bruce guy is anyhow. He just showed up and started playing, which is really cool cuz he covers up 12 Pack’s shortcomings very well. He claims to be retired, although he can’t be a day past 40 (note – he dyes his hair grey for that “Older, Distinguished” look.
We haven’t found him on any sex offender lists, so we intend to continue to let him play with us. If anybody has any information on this man, please contact [email protected]

John Benson - Bass Guitar
John is "The Kid" of the band. We're not sure if he keeps us young, or makes us all feel old. What matters is this kid can play! John combines funk and excitement with a solid blues groove, adding a new dimension to the band.By the way - the kid hand makes all his own bass guitars!

John Prybilski - Drums
John is the newest member of the band - we found him on sone kinda internet dating service for musicians. That's cool, because his rock solid rhythm is awesome. And we're working on his annoying cymbal grabbing habit...
Influences: Howlin Wolf, Miles Davis, BB King, Van Morrison, Albert Collins, Coco Montoya, Brian Setzer, Joe Cocker, Buddy Guy and Tom Waits.
