recently I've read the book plan b by lester brown, if you get a chance, read his stuff. He's got some great idea's on how to deal w/ the growing problems on the earth. Lot's of alternative energy ideas and how to retain what we have. Some recent novels: queens fool, slammerkin, the harem, the historian, I like the old grimms fairy tales, I find them to be very interesting once you dissect them up a bit.
I don't look up to anyone, people are people and the people of today have nothing on the people in the past, and I really didn't personally know any of those people so who's to say how they got there. However, I think you can be your own hero by living what you believe.
