About Me

Music has been in my blood since I was a little 4 yr old learning to play the piano .I was.very good at it but always loved music so I began to learn singing from my paternal grandmother who had studied music at the Royal Academy in London UK .Many happy hours were spent at her side singing while she played the piano .Through school I was in all the choirs and once I left became very interested in popular music which was mostly of a blues origin. I bought my first bass guitar when I was 17 yrs old and was so thrilled when a friend offered to teach me a few basics and the famous twelve bar blues! I practiced whenever I could and got such pleasure from the deep bass tones it just did it for me .I met a few guys who were also into blues and we used to jam at a local youth club in Boronia in the late sixties .In 1969 I met a guy from India who wanted to have a Hendrix style band and I started to play with them .We did a lot of small local gigs and a very good one down at Wonthaggi Surf club which was very exciting . I ended up marrying the guy and had two daughters in the next six years but I never really gave up playing bass as we had numerous other bands and continued to play and enjoy the music, my daughter now has this gift and is into her own genre of electro music which makes me very happy . I have been a fan of reggae and african music from the fifties and sixties and love nothing better than a solid thumping bass line .You need to feel it in your guts then you know its good and has enough volume ! I have been lucky to have lived through one of the greatest periods of popular music and priviliged to have seen some of the greatest bands perform at their peak the most memorable would be the Great Bob Marley and Wailers as his legend is still growing so long after his passing .Aston FAMILYMAN Barrett is my all time favourite bassist I just love his easy style and simple riffs sounds so sweet ! Hope you enjoy my sounds and keep the bass a humming, always feel what you play from the heart .
