About Me

Come into my parlor, said the spider to the fly...
I am an Angry, Passionate Soul Crying out Into the Torturous Mediocrity!
I am also a student of life, I love to watch people and try to understand what drives them and motivates their behavior. Although I have been known to lock myself within the ivory tower of academia and stay hidden there for days with my poetry and books. I love to nurture melancholy, my best day is rainy cold day in the Fall; spent in bed drinking hot tea and reading a good novel or collection of poetry. I am in the midst of a passionate love-affair with poetic irony and all of its trappings.
When I do go out, I like to be at a dive bar, coffeehouse or dance club. I am usually not shy and I will walk right up to someone and introduce myself. I make friends easily and have kept most of my friends since Junior High. As far as social proclivities go, I align myself with the Gothic subculture, and have done so for many years. Yet there is punk running through my blood, because I am absolutely no-nonsense and I do my best to undermine the world's pompous authority. I pride myself on having a high intellect, fiery temprament and kind heart. If that sounds parodixical, that's because I am.
There is nothing in the world that I despise more than hypocrisy, self-righteousness and zealotry. I am a spiritual person, but not religious. I know there is more to this world than what is available to the naked eye. I have a childlike love of the mysterious and exploration to satiate my undying curiosity.
I have been described in the following terms:
Poet
Warrior
Mother
Saint
Sinner
Madonna...et al.,
"Peek-a-boo roots, that people think so dashing." ~ Adam Ant
Here is how I got the nickname Boo:
Am I living up to my reputation? Am I every nasty little demon your narrow little mind imagined and tried to bring to life? You tell me where you want me to draw lines...show me how to connect all the imperfect little dots of your life and render images in blood and ink, how to tease them into a dream of sinful oblivion. Then beg me to breathe them into life for you....twist my heart into something that passes for caring....
MY FIRST LOVE(S)!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some of my Favorite Quotes:
*****************************
"I confess, without shame, that I am sick and tired of fighting—its glory is all moonshine; even success the most brilliant is over dead and mangled bodies, with the anguish and lamentations of distant families, appealing to me for sons, husbands, and fathers ... it is only those who have never heard a shot, never heard the shriek and groans of the wounded and lacerated ... that cry aloud for more blood, more vengeance, more desolation" ~ Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman in a personal letter from May, 1865
****************
"Only the question of rarity of outstanding women remains to be addressed, The explanation is clear: women have been able by nature to be exceptional, but have chosen lesser goals. For some women are concerned with parting their hair correctly, adorning themeselves with lovely dresses, or decorating their fingers with pearls and other gems. Others delight in mouthing carefully composed phrases, indulging in dancing or managing spoiled puppies. Still others wish to gaze at lavish banquet halls, to rest in sleep, or, standing at mirrors to lavish their lovely faces. But those in whom a deeper integrity yearns for virtue, restrain from the start their youthful souls, reflect on higher things, harden the body with sobriety and trials, and curb their tongues, open their ears, compose their thoughts in wakeful hours, their minds in contemplation, to letters bonded to righteousness. For knowledge is not a gift, but it [is gained] with diligence." ~ Laura Cereta
*************
As they say in the United States, 'to be different is to be indecent.' The mass crushes beneath it everthing that is different, everything that is excellent, individual, qualified and select. Anybody who is not like everybody, does not think like everybody, runs the risk of being elimnated." ~ Ortega Y Gasse
CROW
Keeper of the Sacred Law
Crows are the keepers of the Sacred Law and to have a Crow totem is very powerful.
Personal Integrity are your watchwords and your guide in Life. If you have a Crow totem, your prime path is to be mindful of your opinions and actions. You must be willing to walk your talk, to speak your truth and to know your life's mission.
Crow is a omen of Change. Crow lives in the void and has no sense of time, therefore, it sees past, present and future simultaneously. Crow merges both light and dark, both inner and outer. It is the totem of the Great Spirit and must be respected as such.
They are symbols of creation and spiritual strength. Look for opportunities to create and manifest the magic of life. Crows are messengers calling to us about the creation and magic that is alive in the world today and available to us.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

“Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.”~ Neil Gaiman

To love is to lose..to lose is to die"~Death in June

After Spanish Proverb
**********************
Oh, mercifullest one of all,
Oh, generous as dear,
None lived so lowly, none so small,
Thou couldst withhold thy tear:

How swift, in pure compassion,
How meek in charity,
To offer friendship to the one
Who begged but love of thee!

Oh, gentle word, and sweetest said!
Oh, tender hand, and first
To hold the warm, delicious bread
To lips burned black of thirst.
~ Dorothy Parker

********************
"And so a secret kiss
Brings madness with the bliss
And I will think of this
When I'm dead in my grave
Set me adrift and I'm lost over there
And I must be insane
To go skating on your name
And by tracing it twice
I fell through the ice"
~Tom Waits

Ask Not For Whom the Bell Tolls
