About Me

Awareness Project Vision Statement
To Everyone who feels the need to raise the general level of awareness on this planet, The Awarenes Project ( www.findfact.org ) is growing and we invite you to participate in its creation.
Who we are: A non partisan, not for profit international organization of concerned individuals from various walks of life who are not satisfied with the information provided by the mainstream media. We are committed to changing the direction the world is heading in so that a brighter future is created for ourselves and our children.
Our mission: To produce an alternative to the mainstream media, by channeling the information that is currently available on the Internet into a user-friendly web site. The web site will provide quick and easy access to facts and ideas (from various sources) about a wide range of issues and what can be done to affect them. We will inform the public of this new resource and by doing so unite and empower numerous organizations that already promote awareness. The Awareness Project will cause people to see that our future is the result of our choices now.
Guiding principles: Maintain a neutral position as we provide direct access to the most complete information available. Operate through a democratic process in which all policies and procedures are available to the public. Respect and care for the global community of life. Evolve with social and economic justice, ecological integrity, nonviolence, and peace.
Basic structure of the plan: A Web site is being created that organizes facts and ideas according to geographical and topical criteria. The first page will provide a choice of geographical locations (the format will be the same for every location) and a choice of basic categories (such as environment, politics, economy, etc.) that contain collected information about issues that are relevant to each category. The second page will provide a detailed list of categories that fall under the previous selection. The following pages will continue to narrow down the categories until specific issues, facts, and ideas are reached. The facts and ideas will be referenced (including citations) and presented with relevant links to more information and opportunities for action. Issues will be approached from as many views as possible. A method of verification will be used to select and classify the information that is available on the web site. It will be based on the basic principles of unbiased journalism and critical thinking.
The first page will also contain the following:
    * A statement about the quality control system (mentioned above)
    * A request to inform us of any important information that is not available through the Web site
    * A link to a page which acknowledges those who support/have supported the project
    * A link to a page which provides assistance in using the site

A great effort to gain exposure to the project will be made in as many ways as possible, including but not limited to: numerous forms of media, celebrities, politicians, students, corporations and religious communities.
Awareness Project teams will be created throughout the world. The intention is to have at least one team in every country (if not every state). College campuses will be among the first locations.
Initially, the plan is to include information about American and global issues. As the project gains support, other countries will be added.
The budget and constitution of the Awareness Project will be posted as soon as they are confirmed.
The plan is based on these premises:
* Many of us would like to make an impact, but feel there is nothing we can actually do without sacrificing much of our lives
* Democracy is only effective when citizens are willing and able to become well informed on important issues
* No one appreciates being lied to
* Everyone wants to survive
* Most people are good hearted
* Cleaner alternatives exist for most of the polluting technology we use
* Informed people will generally make wise choices
* Spreading awareness will make a difference without demanding any major sacrifices
We believe that the project will produce these results:
* Cause people to realize that an individual can make a real difference
* Generate hope in those who have resigned themselves to apathy
* Generate curiosity in those who are satisfied with the mainstream media
* Provide a common ground on which existing organizations and concerned citizens can unite, and by doing so, drastically increase the impact of their efforts
* Provide an opportunity to those who are not comfortable with the present situation
* Facilitate the transformation of the mainstream media
* Increase the potential quality of life on Earth for everyone and everything
What is needed:
* People willing to put their time into the project for various activities (everyone can help)
* Names and e-mail addresses of organizations and people who may be interested in supporting the project * Technical support
* Financial support
* Inspiring ideas
* Connections to TV stations, radio stations, newspapers, magazines, talk show hosts, political leaders, religious leaders, celebrities, and social networks of every kind
* A logo
* Strategies for the design of the project
* Strategies for the most effective way to gain exposure to the project
* A name or phrase which will serve as a reference to the project
* Accurate, verifiable facts with links to more information
Consider the possibility that the effects you cause through the Awareness Project will echo throughout history.
Time is precious, please do any or all of the following:
* Circulate our flyer
send us feedback and support at [email protected]
* Join our message board (memberships will be activated within 24 hours)
* Forward this message to anyone you think might be interested
In global terms we are all in this together.
On behalf of the Awareness Project Team,
Satya Giordano
President
