Hi my name is Charlotte Hamil and I am a lifetime resident of small town Durant Oklahoma. I have the typical singers story...started singing when I was four, I've always loved to sing, you know the drill. Singing to me is one of the greatest forms of expression and is such a high for me to perform on the stage or just around my house. It has always been a dream of mine to become the next big country star, but my life had other plans for me until now. Growing up my elementary school music teacher Mrs. Gary saw something in me and gave me that push to really study music. I was lucky that continued throughout my school days with Mrs. Rains and Mrs. Wilkins. These women have no idea the impact that they had on me as a child and teenager. I hope that someday they will know how much thier teaching inspired me. But singing is not my only passion. For thirteen years I was a part of the Oklahoma Shakespearian Festival. I was cast as Daisy May in Lil' Abner, Rosie in Bye-Bye Birdie, and numerous other shows. During high school I was apart of our Drama team and furthered my knowledge of the performing arts. After High School I attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University and majored in Communications (broadcasting to be exact) and Leadership. During this time I took time away from singing to focus on other job opportunities. After college I started singing again at local showcases and entered in numerous contest. For four years I have competed in the Colgate Country Music Showcase and the past two auditioned for American Idol. In the summer of 2007 I won the National Sandbass Festival Talent Search. In April of 2008 I auditioned for Nashville Star and was able to sing twice for the Judges. Some of the other memorable performances have been singing at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C., Dallas Mavericks game, New York New York in Las Vegas, and opening for Buddy Jewell, to name a few. I am very bless to have my family support me in following my dreams. My amazing husband give me the strength, love, and hope to keep going. He is my soul mate! My Dad has never stopped believing in me and demonstrates that unconditional love that great parents have for thier children! My mother-in-law has taken me as her own daughter and can't wait for success. My brother and sister in-law never miss a show and show me that no matter what if I want to do it I can. My cousin Brian has the positive outlook that if something doesn't go right it's ok. I am surrounded by unbelievable friends who travel the distance to watch me sing, can't wait for the next show, and go with me to auditions. So I have already made it to the people that are important to me and the next phase is just a added bonus! Hope you enjoy the site and keep checking back for new music and my album!
