DJ SLICK’S MUSIC PAGE!

DJ Slick started his music career in 1987. Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, DJ Slick came from a family influenced by music. His love for music was brought upon by other famous Hip- Hop pioneers like Kid Capri and Grand Master Jay. The family moved to Tampa, Florida in 1988, where his love for music exploded. In 1992, after graduating from Tampa Bay Vo. Tech, he started spinning at different clubs and working with local radio stations (Top 40 Q105 & 93.3-The Power Pig). From 1992 to 1998, DJ Slick battled against other deejays. In 1995, he competed in the DMC Competition, proving his status as a Top 40/ R&B and Hip Hop Party DJ. In 1999, DJ Slick started Slickstyle DJ’s which included local deejays as DJ MIZ & DJ 420. A website, Undergrounds Finest, was created, where he promoted other Deejay’s music including Funk Master Flex, DJ Clue, DJ Juice and other deejays. He released his first CD, “The Beginning Mixtape”, which opened the doors to the world of mixed music. After “The Beginning Mixtape”, came “Undergounds Finest Mixtape”, “GF Mixtape”, which featured PRIME from Kings of Killas, and “Love is Love”, a collaboration of R&B, Hip- Hop and Reggae. DJ Slick was introduced to D.R.E.A.M. of MackMen Entertainment in 2003, a Harlem Based- Sarasota Soulja with the gift of spitting raw lyrics. He was recruited to work on his album “Under Da Water” featuring Meeno, Sean Gates and C-Mack. He also created Slickstyle Designs, where he designed all his cd covers, as well as flyers, posters and other covers for artists and deejays. Perfecting his skills, in 2007 DJ Slick joined D.R.E.A.M. again to release “Back on Da Block”, featuring Sean Gates & Chain Gang. At the same time, he joined forces with Ivan Echevarria, a long time close friend, one of Tampa Bay’s best promoter/party coordinator and CEO/Founder of Legally Hustling Promotions to present “The 80’s Classic Summer Jam Tour” at the Ford Ampitheathre featuring Lisa Lisa, Soul Sonic Force, Cynthia, Coro, Expose, Safire, Judy Torres, Noel, Shannon & Giggles. In 2008, DJ Slick decided to broaden his horizons and branched out to the East Coast of Florida, where he met Dragon, one of Daville Entertainment Best New Reggaeton artist. Booking shows, promoting and deejaying, DJ Slick still kept his roots grounded, creating with D.R.E.A.M. their latest mixtape “Big Cars! Big Rims!” featuring Meeno, Red Rum, Triple X, Sean Gates and Southern Intruda. Currently, DJ Slick is working on his next album, “High Class Motorsports- Da Next Mixtape”.
