Trying some Bireli Lagrene tricks :)
Ola! Where to start… I am a French guitar player who loves the mix of musical genre. In the 90s I was playing in a gypsy jazz duet with violinist Vincent Mornas, performing in the castles of the Loire valley at the same time as developing his love for pinfloydish guitar solos in the progressive rock band The Lubeck Heads.
I came to Seattle in 2002 and started working with jazz singer Nikko Olajoyegbe in a nice acoustic intimate duet called Orinewa featured in the PBS City A Gogo broadcast.
In 2004 I created with Billy Brandt (vocals) and Felix Sernius (sax) Hot’s Too, a swingy bluesy combo revisiting the jazz era from the 30s. They toured in Alaska during summer 2006 and became frequent guest at Egan’s Ballard Jam House.
Through a translation work for eMedia music, I met in 2006 the sound engineer Jon Goff who mixed the last album of The Lubeck Heads: You Or Another You, released in November 2008. This was really a performance since the members were living 6,000 miles apart (Eric Benoist in London and Cyrille Gosselin in Seattle). They succeed together to put this beautiful virtual album now available at http://cdbaby.com/cd/lubeckheads or on iTunes, Amazon and Rhapsody.
In 2007, I discovered the joy loop machine and piling up guitar layers in live solo guitar performance. In addition, he also created the Quartet Impromptu gathering accordion, percussions, bass, piano, guitar and drums in different format. The repertoire includes acoustic originals, Latin sound. French swing from the 60’s and his love of blues.
Besides performing, I teach guitar and piano privately and puts regularly students showcase with a wide range of music genre including bands or composer like Scorpions, Steppenwolf, Santana, Robben Ford, Chopin, Beethoven, and Duke Ellington.
