About Me

Can soul be found amidst the circuitry? Does electricity provide inspiration? Can one man be a band? Yes, yes, and a resounding yes. John Cwiok, a strange amalgam of the aged and the infant, the wise and the naive, will prove it on his full-length debut, "Death to Double Drags". With his hands on the wood and his head in the motherboard, he melds his disparate influences (Sylvian to Prince, Beethoven to Kraftwerk, Mingus to Mode), into a fecund, swirling, sonic milieu. Insidious and successful. Encouraging the hips to sway and the mind to ponder. Honing his jazz roots, his rock experience, and his primitive rhythmic urge into a burrowing, distinct sound. Pronounce Cwiok "swick", as the name will be passing your lips almost daily from this moment forward. "Death to Double Drags"! I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
