About Me

This should sum it up: Every September I think of my abondoned Judaism and how religion has destroyed a nice little thing called faith. I make plans for a successful year and a decent harvest. In December, I feel Christmas. I donate blood, which I fucking hate, and I watch a lot of 'Holiday Inn' and 'It's a Wonderful Life.' Come spring, I look forward to spaghetti straps and jackets on girls. Warm afternoons and chilly nights with walks home while finishing beers. May is my birthday month and I always remember graduating Jr. High. The summer time brings homesickness of Decatur, Michigan and boats and the need to be floating instead of wasting my lungs on land. I think I should have gills. At the end of the summer I listen to singing branches and watch the grass dance. If I'm too deep in the desert, I look to leave it. I beg for sun drenched long days and windy humid nights that end quickly.

Rock N Roll Life Styles Beaches and being easy on sand Sailing Writing Reading Discussing Creating Dancing in my socks on a hard wood floor Consuming Beam on a Michigan blanket at a public access

I'd like to meet:

President John F. Kennedy pre November 22, 1963. Then Lee Harvey Oswald. See, I just don't buy it. I'd like to run into my great-grand father, Louis again. I haven't seen him since I was one-year-old. He's either in the Witness Protection Program or he really died. And I guess I'd like to meet you, but I've been okay without you too ... So far anyway.

Music:

Rock n' Roll. Most things with a driving beat. Pre-Beatles, most records from 1954-1977. Disco (eat one, it's fun stuff). Big Band. Oasis, Jawbreaker, Alkaline Trio, American Football, Braid, Ben Lee, Ben Folds, The Promise Ring. 80's Rap, Hip-Hop. Soul music from the 1970s. "Me and Mrs. Jones" is a fantastic tune. Beach music like Chairmen of the Board always makes me smile. Oh, there's so much more, but I'm such a music snob that it's better to say that chances are if it's modern, and the lead singer is wearing make-up, it probably sucks. That goes for the Killers too... Although, I do love, I mean fucking love Christian Rock. Jam on in His name.

Movies:

It's a Wonderful Life. Casino. Better Off Dead. Big Fish. Star Wars. Casablanca. Singing In the Rain. Kill Bill. There's more...

Television:

Law & Order. Food Network. History Channel. Seriously, the Disney Channel - but I have a theory on Disney... so don't label me a fuck wad yet.

Books:

'The Things They Carried,' 'Generation X,' 'Naked,' every one I haven't written yet, 'Einstein's Dreams.'

Heroes:

Dad, Poppy, Irsfeld, often times myself - and I'm surprised each and every time.
