FORGOTTEN IN SPACE are born from the projects of Danilo "the king" Teti (Synapsicide’s drummer) singer and former member who in the summer of 2006 started looking for band members to fill the line up of the tribute band to the legendary thrash metal progressive canadian icons VOIVOD.
Forgotten In Space are above all devoted to Denis "Piggy" D’Amour, mind and genius of Voivod and the metal scene altogheter, who has suddenly passed in summer 2005.
Recruiting members for such a band has not been an easy task , but finally some old friends turned up and joined in respectively Andrea “ er Kembruck†Alberati on drums, Vittorio “Viltrio†Iacovella on bass and Ivano “Jestas†Forgione as axeman soon to be replaced by Luca “Puccetto†Franco.
At this point all members where on the same frequency and in a short time managed to have a set list for their first gig in the roman underground.
Regardless of the difficulty of songs the current line up is a truly voivod fanatics-four of a kind- trying to cover as much as possible from their dicography, and to show how unique and ahead the canadians were, are, and will be.
That is what FORGOTTEN IN SPACE are about!!
FORGOTTEN IN SPACE nascono da un'idea di Danilo "The King" Teti (batterista dei Synapsicide) fondatore e cantante della band, che nell'estate del 2006 comincia le ricerche per trovare altri membri per un gruppo tributo alla leggendaria metal thrash progressive band canadese VOIVOD.
E a Denis "Piggy" D'Amour, mente e genio della band scomparso purtroppo nell'estate del 2005.
Le ricerche non sono facili, ma alla fine rispondono all'annuncio: Ivano "Jestas" Forgione alla chitarra, in più, due amici di vecchia data di Danilo, entrambi come lui grandi appassionati dei Voivod, Andrea "Er Kembruck" Alberati (già membro dei Lykaion) alla batteria e Vittorio "Viltrio" Iacovella al basso. Dopo un po' di prove cambiano chitarrista, entra nei Forgotten in Space Luca "Puccetto" Franco, e il gruppo comincia a rimboccarsi le maniche: i pezzi non sono facili da riproporre e reinterpretare, ma dopo brevissimo tempo il 19 maggio finalmente la prima esibizione dal vivo!
E' ora che tutti riscoprano la grandezza di un gruppo che purtroppo nel corso degli anni è andato dimenticato, e i FORGOTTEN IN SPACE sono qui per questo!!
