About Me

if we inflict the pain then baby only we can comfort you

The Medicine Line was officially born in 2000. After 9 months of living in a concrete basement, chris had put together a collection of songs he was ready to get a band behind. He immediately called his lifelong friend ryan to perform the songs on a demo. A few rehearsals and lineup changes later and kenji was added to begin recording. A four song demo was put together and TML began playing clubs in and around boston. Five years later TML has three demos and a full length in the works.
TML are all browns and reds. A dark band hidden behind melody and ambience. A silhouette in the shadows. The record is an explanation, an excuse. It is also a way out, out of lucifer's fiery fingertips. There are religious references and undertones throughout chris's lyrics, used to romanticize the very last moments when one's back is to the wall. Who do you call out to? Heaven or Hell? The record's finale, Malediction, explains this: "We get united/call the devil out again/maybe you're frightened/maybe it's luck we're not dead yet". The calling of a curse.
Inspired by their very vices, TML has now settled into a more diverse sound taking influence from soul and motown, hip hop and experimental electronic sampling.

Let's say you are purity itself.
But what the hell does it mean to be really honest?
It's time to set all the symbols aside,
the echoing of purity, innocence, escape.
