About Me

I'm more or less obsessed with music - the weirder and darker, the better, though I mainly like Death Metal and Post-Hardcore, but also Industrial and Dark Ambient and acoustic stuff. Usually I don't really give two hoots about the genre description and how something is labelled as long as I like it. The first LP I bought was Iron Maiden's "Killers", the first CD was Death's "Spiritual Healing", btw. Currently I am writing for German online mag Metalnews.de for the sheer fun of it.
I love travelling and could do it for ages. I've lived in Scotland for roughly two years and worked there, whereas I had been there before which caused to me to fall in love with the place immediately. I simply love the feel of the place and the way its people are - ranging from hospitality to language and humour - that's where I came in contact with the stuff of Glaswegian comedian Billy Connolly who can still make me laugh out loud at about anything. Besides, I played the bagpipes in a Pipes & Drums Band in Germany for 2 years - serious stuff; no tourist crap (though it's a while back and I haven't really had time to keep it up, sadly). Ireland is great as well - don't miss the Aran Islands when you are there, they are one of the nicest and calmest places on this planet. If you need a place in order to let the cobwebs be blown away - go! Norway is a blast as well though I haven't been as far north as I would have liked, but still - it's beautiful.
I'm strictly vegetarian and have been exactly that for the last 13 years - and that's not going to change. I have a problem with people that fail to at least respect such a decision. Do what you want, I'll respect it as long it doesn't cause me any harm - but please respect likewise what I opted for.
I don't like the summer or its heat particularly. Anything above 25 degrees Celsius can just as well happen to other places and people. I just don't feel comfy with it. Even though it might sound like a huge cliché: I prefer the autumn and the winter. I love the cold and I love snow - especially to go for a stroll in the falling snow. The autumn in Scotland with all its different colours is something that can't be beaten or forgotten, btw.
In case anyone's interested: I've got a University Degree in English and Scandinavian Studies, so, don't hesitate to offer me a job I can't refuse, haha.... ;-)
If you have got any questions or whatever, feel free to send me a message. But, bands: PLEASE, refrain from sending friend requests just because I might have the same major favourite bands - that have been around for countless years - in my friends list. It will lead to the equivalent of the square root of bugger all. No offence meant.... Thanks.
