About Me

What isss it? It's yours truely on the screen "J.King". A little about myself huh. Well lets start from the begining. I was born at Alta Bates hospital in Berkely C.A. April 23,197i mean, i mean. From the start the cards was stacked against ya boy. By that I mean at birth it was so much wrong with me the doctors told moms I wasn't gone make it. Two weeks later when moms & pops was finally able to bring me home, the house I was brought to was on 108th & Mac Author in East Oakland C.A. known better as the DEEP EAST. I have no memories of moms and pops ever bein together but he has always been in my life. From what my brother told me we didnt stay on 108th to long. We moved to E 16th & Fruitvale Ave. A part of town better known as the TWOMPS or my favorite the MURDER DUBBS. At that particular time frame in the 1980's a lot of Oakland residents were battlin many different stuggles. Such as racism, police brutality, government, eachother and drug addiction. Drugs provided by the government mind you. My mother was 1 of the people also battlin a drug addiction. A battle that she did win thanx to hard work and dedication. This past march was my mothers 16th anniversary of bein clean and sober. CONGRADULATIONS MOMMA. So needless to say thier was very rarely a borin day in my life. I was 1 of the kids that learned to go to sleep to the sound of gun shots. I spent a lot of my child hood in crack houses and smoke filled rooms. My uncle was sellin birds out the garage of my grandfathers house on 14th & Cambell St. in West Oakland C.A better known as the LOWER BOTTOMS befor I even knew what sellin birds was. Oh yeah R.I.P uncle Ty I still miss and love you. So seein as how the super vision was lackin young J.King was on a mission to get it crackin. I had my first encounter with dope when my older cousin had me go get some work for him sence the spot was crackin so hard he didn't want to leave, I drank a 40 not the whole thang though, smoked a blunt and had sex for the first time all befor jr. high. So without spendin to much time on growin up we gone switch tracks a lil bit. I just wanted to give you a little insight as to what made the man befor you on the screen the man he is today. I done lost entirely to many friends and family to the game. One of my most painful loses came December 9,2003. That was the day 3 hatas ran up in my little brother spot to get him for what he had but didn't take nothin but his life. From that point I was forever changed. For better or worst, I don't really know. I was introduced to the booth last year by philipino potna Crown Royal. He asked me if I could spit and I said yeah but I aint never got in the booth and spit nothin so he said come to my nigga Convic house and lets see what it do. After hearin myself on wax I noticed I make better music then a lot people makin music today. I don't take the flossin approach or the live by the sword die by the sword approach either. I feel like to many people make music to try to make it in the industry rather then makin music from within. By makin nothin but what the people like you never really push the envelope in music to create new genres. I like kickin it just as much as the next man and when I do I do it right. At the same time 9 to 5 (business hours) i'm handlin my business. After 5 anything go's. I appreciate you takin the time out your busy day to come check out the contents of my heart. All comments and notes are greatly appreciated. In closing I would like to say," It's in me not on me!." J.King
