If San Jose, California has an R&B soul, the voice of that soul is Falisha La Faye. With a the working track record of a mogul in the making, this Bay Area diva is no stranger to performing in front of thousands. Coming into the game as professional background singer for the Ike and Tina Turner Revue, Falisha commanded the stage so much that her performance eventually led her to the front for a solo that was later written into the show.
After five years of touring, relentless rehearsals, television shows and public appearances, Falisha decided to launch a solo career after a breakthrough performance during an MTV interview.
Sounding like a fusion between Mary J, Blige’s soul, Keisha Cole’s edge, and Chaka Khan’s vocal prowess, it’s no mystery that this dynamic vocalist started out singing at the age of 9 in church. Originally a native Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Falisha moved to the Bay Area to gain greater exposure and be closer to music industry hot spot Los Angeles.

Under new management and direction the sultry vocalist hit the Bay Area streets with a new hard hitting R&B/Hip Hop club single, “Ride Up On It†featuring San Quinn and produced by ICON.“I wanted to hit the streets with something that would let people know that you can be down to earth and still be a Diva,†says Ms. La Faye. With elements of an 808 driven, “dirty south†musical backdrop, Falisha’s song is a sexy call and response joint that should appeal to both the guys and the girls.
With a host of credits, a few major network appearances and notable popularity, Falisha La faye remains grounded and unswayed on her path to success. Outside of her performance, she is most revered for her work ethic.
